Since the schoolyard

The crucial task of the modern educational system is to help pupils to develop skills which will help to become successful and highly demanded professionals in the future. In order to achieve this goal, there are innovative technologies and creative approaches implemented in Moscow. Today we offer our readers to learn more about these perspective methods. The so-called "Schools for seniors" started their work based on three educational institutes in the capital. They differ in the way their environment and the learning process itself are organized. Educational space there resembles such of a university - children have lecture halls, laboratories with modern equipment and digital classes for coding at their disposal. Educational curriculum is divided into several specialities - IT, engineering, medicine. They all aim to give the pupils pre-vocational education during their last years of school. Each one of them has a certain learning load. Thus, kids who decided to enter medical class will learn how to perform first aid, carry out real tests and take care for people with special needs, and those who chose IT for their speciality will develop their own mobile applications and learn to work with different software. All of this helps the younger generation to find their calling and know for sure their future line of work. Receiving such education means various fields of work aimed at developing social skills, initiative and responsibility in the students - traits so vital for successful professional growth in the future. Vocational programme in the learning process is realized through additional lectures and seminars, along with the work with university teachers, undergrad students and practitioners. Study hours and workload are divided with regard to the interests and character traits of the pupils. University teachers also grade the final exam the children take at the end of their studies. It involves theoretical and practical parts. Taking it gives additional points needed for entering universities in the future. Apart from that, universities provide practice which pupils take during their senior years respectively to their specialities. The "Schools for seniors" are currently attended by the pupils of the tenth and eleventh grades. This, however, does not satisfy the project's ambitions. After five years of working in the capital, the creators plan to open more schools in Moscow and potentially in other regions of the country. The number of pupils will also grow - the program will be expanded to eighth and ninth grades. Quality education is an investment in the country's future and the prosperity of its citizens. The competence of potential specialists is directly related to the number of means and resources put into their education. Development of the "Schools for seniors" in Russia will undoubtedly enhance the possibilities of their students and pave them the way to the successful and happy life.
